I've read somewhere that after otoplasty there is a danger of having a cauliflower ear. Is this true?

It is not possible to get a cauliflower ear after an operation with the Dr. Merck stitch method because with this gentle, new method, the cartilage is not scratched or worked in any other way. The possibility of getting cauliflower ears only exists with traditional methods, if ? and this is often the case ? cartilage is traumatised and the cartilage skin is injured. This also happens during wrestling, boxing or burning the ears.
