Hi there,

I really like the sound of your stitch method, I have a couple of questions.

Is there any chance that the Prolene stitches can be rejected by the cartilage/skin?

You say that there is a low chance of infection after the operation, but what would be needed to be done if there was an infection and I have already traveled back to another country?

And lastly how long is it to get an appointment?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Kop,

There is, in the exceptional case, a possibility that the prolene stitches be rejected by the tissue ("thread incompatibility"). Should this occur, the exposed thread must be removed. Otherwise it may produce inflammation or infection.
The stitch must be removed by us at one of our clinics. It cannot be removed by a doctor in your home country as this doctor will not be familiar with the method.

Concerning your question about the time you need to wait for a free appointment, I ask you to contact our head secretary. (service@merck-ecs.com; Telephon : +49 7531 / 91 53 10; Telefax : +49 7531 / 91 53 12)

Kind regards,
Priv. Doz. Dr. med. W. Merck
