I had otoplasty 20 years ago, at the age of 15, but my ears are still protruding very much. Now I want to have them operated on again, but I haven't found anyone in all of Hamburg who uses your method. In the hospitals, I have been told that this method would not work for some patients.

Dear Ulrike,

I don't know a doctor in Hamburg or in that area who operates with my stitch method. An ear that has been operated on with the traditional method has enough cartilage left (no matter how much it has been worked on or thinned out). Therefore my stitch method is suitable for you if you want to have otoplasty for your protruding ears. If you have been told that the stitch method is not suitable for some, it is because some doctors confuse my method with the method according to Mustardé, which is indeed not suitable for all ears. The stitch method developed by me has got nothing to do with the Mustardé method, however. With my method, it is possible to operate on any ear, without problems, no matter how large it is and how thick the cartilage is.

Best regards,

Priv.Doz.Dr.med.W.Merck
